Mini-haul at Sephora, Pune

Hi Everyone,

As a makeup enthusiast, I was very excited to visit the Sephora outlet in Pune. It opened in January this year at the Phoenix Market City Mall & I happened to miss it by a mere 5-days :-( We had a chance to visit Pune again this year to visit our families & this time I wasn't missing Sephora for anything!!

My Sis-in-law knew the 'budget-product junkie' in me & we both kinda knew that we won't be hauling too much from there. But I still managed to get products that I really wanted to try & didn't go over the budget I'd set for myself :-) Here are some 'sneak peek' pics for now, I will be reviewing these once I've made an opinion about them...

Soap & Glory

The Pore-fessional by Benefit Cosmetics
Here are some other knick-knacks I picked up from the smaller outlets at the mall -

1. A dupe for the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
2. Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip cream in a new shade 16A
3. Rimmel London Apocalips in the shade 'Aurora' (I was actually looking for the Provocalips 16HR Kissproff lipcolour, but realized that it wasn't launched in India yet).
4. (Random purchase) Makeover Professional Matte Lipstick in the shade 'Cherry Ice'.

Hope you liked my teeny-tiny haul :-) Until the next post, Ciao!!

PS: I also tried out Soap & Glory's Sexy MotherPucker Lipgloss @ Sephora-Pune. Head over to my Instagram profile - https://instagram.com/nehavinekar/ for the pic.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipsticks - Review

Hi Everyone!

Today I'm here to review two of my most loved lipsticks - the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipsticks in 'Heart Breaker' & 'Cutting Edge'.

My story with them begins when I was on the lookout for a particular lipstick from one of our reputed Indian brands. I walked into Shoppers Stop, with my mind set on this one shade, that would cost me around Rs.500/-. I was pleasantly surprised to see a Rimmel London counter in the mall and I turned towards it to merely check out their shades (read - swatch leisurely!!). I had already heard very good things about the Kate Moss range and I wanted to see if they had anything else that I liked. To cut an already long story short, I ended up buying these 2 beautiful lipsticks for the same price I'd have to pay for that one lipstick I was actually looking for...!! Ahh, such an adventure Shopping is...you never know what you'll find!! Cheers, to more such adventures!!

Rimmel London lipsticks are known for being exceptional in quality along with being totally budget friendly. I always wanted to try them out, so I was very happy to pick these up. Sticking to my usual picks, I pulled out a lovely pink. I also went out of my comfort zone and bought a 'Winter-appropriate' shade as well. Read on to know more about these beauties-

HEART BREAKER 016:

Price: 250/- for 4g (My pocket was dancing to Pharrell Williams' "Happy" lol)
Shade: Heart Breaker is a Mauvey-Pink shade which is right up my alley. I knew I had to have it, when I laid eyes on it. It can look bright & vibrant on sunny days & a lovely muted mauve on 'not so sunny' ones...cool init? ;-)
Pigmentation & Texture: The lipstick is quite pigmented and one swipe will be enough to cover your natural lip colour. This doesn't need to be layered on to get true colour. The texture is creamy and absolutely easy to apply. It glides on like a dream. It moisturizes the lips but not to an extent that your dry lips wont show. If you do have dry, flaky lips, please moisturize and exfoliate before application. Having said that its creamy, the texture dries to a satin matte finish. The lipstick does not bleed and you won't need a lipliner before wearing this one.
Wear-time: This lipstick lasts on me for a good 5-6hrs. Yes, it does fade a bit after that. The shade also stains your lips very well, so you don't need an immediate touch up after its faded a bit. PS: If you're going to try out this range, then I highly recommend picking up this shade; its beautiful and would suit almost all skin tones :-)

CUTTING EDGE 120

Price: 250/- for 4g (My pocket was singing "Denewala jab bhi deta, deta chappar phaad ke" lol)
Shade: Cutting Edge is a rich, deep Berry shade. It's nothing like I have ever owned before. Since I bought it towards the end of winter, it hasn't received the love it deserves, as you can see from the bullet. That, is going to change this year! ;-)
Pigmentation & Texture: The lipstick is similar to the Heart Breaker actually..In terms of formula, quite pigmented & one swipe will get you the true colour. The texture is creamy & dries to a satin matte finish. What I sometimes do to make it more matte, is that I dust a little baby powder on it after a few mins of application & then re-apply. It stays on longer than 5-6hrs that way, which is normally the wear-time I find with this range.
Wear-time: 5-6hrs but fades slightly after meals and drinks. This shade too has a good staining effect on your lips, like its pinky, mauvey counterpart!

Hand swatches:

Top: Heart Breaker 016 & Bottom: Cutting Edge 120
(Freshly applied)

Top: Heart Breaker 016 & Bottom: Cutting Edge 120
(After 10 mins of application)

Lip Swatches:

Heart Breaker 016

Cutting Edge 120

Sorry about looking like I have 2 different skin tones in these pics, the sun was playing games throughout that day!! :-P

Hope this review was helpful in case you were looking to try out the Rimmel London range of lipsticks. I haven't tried out the Kate Moss range in the red & black casing but I might try them out once I'm done with these lovelies..!! How about you? Do you own any lippies from the RL range? Tell me about them in the comments below...

Until the next post, Ciao!!!
